This is my first time participating in this meme, but I’m so excited because it is totally me! It’s my heart’s desire and an excellent, motivating way to keep moving forward!
Moms the Word spoke today of something that is totally on my heart, too. Time Management. Last night I filled out my Daily Docket from Simple Mom so that I could manage my time rather than have it manage me. Below you’ll see my docket for today:
Ephesians 5:16-17
Be very careful, then, how you live–not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
This verse keeps coming back to me and every time I read it, I see it in a more urgent light. In a light that says God means business because He keeps bringing back up.
I have kept going back and forth with the idea of getting up early in the morning or not and I really think I am resisting God by not. He wants me to equip myself for the day, before the children awake. So, that when they do wake, I am armed and ready to serve them. Not unprepared and grumpy as a result.
If God believed it important enough to put in the Bible to instruct us on the best way to live, then I believe it’s important enough for me to strive for.
So, my goal today is to follow my docket and write down some notes at the end of the day on how I did and how I feel as a result of precisely planning out my time to make my home sing.
Please visit Moms the Word to find out how you, too, can join in on this wonderful opportunity to make your home sing!
*Update*
Here is my finished docket. Everything completed is highlighted. Note the MIT’s (Most Important Tasks) were all completed.
I understand this seems like a tight schedule, but I really only use it as a guide and kind of where I would *like* to be at certain times. No, I didn’t complete everything at the “scheduled” time, but it kept me on task and things were completed.

Awesome Christin! What a great meme! I can’t wait until Care sleeps through the night so I can start getting up early again! I think if I did it now I would pass out during the day!

Thank you for posting that scripture today. I needed to be reminded of it today! What a great post, and I will have to check out that website.
“If God believed it important enough to put in the Bible to instruct us on the best way to live, then I believe it’s important enough for me to strive for.” Amen, sister! I totally agree.
Thanks for joining us today!

WoW! Such an inspiration! I’ve resolved that I don’t function too well, too early and neither does my family. May you find what works for you.

Man, girl! That is really organized…especially if you follow that to a T!! I think for myself, if I put everything at a certain time, and didn’t get it done, that would stress me out even more! I would feel like I’m on a time crunch all day!!
But, that is great how you can organize your entire day like that!!

That is an awesome schedule…I’ll be interested to hear how you make adjustments as you assess your success at the end of each day. Thank you for the reminder that how we use our time matters.

Yay, Christin! That daily docket was one I was really on the fence about when I was starting my Home Notebook! I love the format so much, and may use it one day… I am impressed seeing your schedule.
That verse has been on my heart & mind, too – I hear it in the background of my mind as I’m trying to decide whether I should take an afternoon “off” or not…
Great way to highlight your accomplishments – and it’s awesome that you give yourself room to not complete EVERYTHING. Some days just don’t work that way, and other days allow for more. It’s a learning process, isn’t it? I’m not as detailed with my day, and maybe I should be. Thanks for making me THINK today!

Cool. This is inspiring. I have made up my own version of this type of thing for myself that fits me. We’ll see how it goes. I like the idea highlighting what you’ve accomplished (and not beating yourself up if everything doesn’t get done). I use that method with a grocery list – I have a master list and highlight what we need this week, and that works great.
